9. VIGO CECE X VAGABOND DE LA POMME

  • 2027
  • Vigo CECE x Vagabond de la Pomme
A half-brother or half-sister to vice World Champion Impress-K van ‘t Kattenheye Z

ABOUT THE TALENT

Vigo Cece is a genetic gem: his sire, Quaprice du Bois Margot, jumped at the very highest level and is renowned as an excellent producer of showjumpers; his dam, Lady Pouilly, performed at 1m40 level and belongs to the famous French Ballerine III lineage. This lineage is packed with top-class ‘du Château’ showjumping blood, including the legendary Itot du Château. It all looked beautiful and promising: Vigo Cece was vice champion as a two-year-old and champion as a three-year-old. In 2015, the life of the then only six-year-old Vigo Cece came to a tragic end. The stallion has proven to be incredibly valuable to the sport. Some names from top-level sport include: Denver de Talma (Lorenzo de Luca), Do It Easy (Tom Wachman), Floyd Des Pres (winner of the Nations Cup in La Baule and Brussels, Antoine Ermann) and Enjoy De La Mure (2nd in the 5* GP of Hickstead, Omar Abdul Aziz Al Marzooqi). Vigo Cece holds 34th place in the WBFSH sire ranking.

The dam of the embryo, Julia VD Donkhoeve, previously produced Impress-K van ’t Kattenheye Z, with whom Thibeau Spits won team gold at the European Championship in La Coruña and claimed victory in the 5* Grands Prix of Riesenbeck and Fontainebleau. Julia is a granddaughter of the famous 5* Grand Prix and Nations Cup mare Utopia van de Donkhoeve, in turn dam of the outstanding 5* showjumpers Allegro and Farao van de Donkhoeve. Don Juan van de Donkhoeve, with whom Jessica Springsteen won team silver at the Olympic Games in Tokyo, also belongs to this BWP lineage 61.
